Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, protect, and share information when you use Odysser.

Overview

Odysser (“Odysser,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect information when you use our website, app, and related services (together, the “Service”).

By using the Service, you acknowledge that we process information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the Service, and limited information from connected services when you authorize those integrations.

  • Account information, such as name, email address, authentication identifiers, billing status, and workspace membership.
  • User content, such as videos, audio, images, transcripts, captions, edits, prompts, chat commands, uploaded assets, and export settings.
  • Support and communications, including feedback, bug reports, requests, and messages you send us.
  • Usage and device data, including IP address, browser, device, operating system, pages viewed, feature usage, session events, performance data, crash logs, and security logs.
  • Connected-service data, such as files you select from a third-party service like Google Drive, only when you choose to connect that service or import that content.
  • Payment-related information processed by our payment provider, such as plan, subscription status, billing email, and transaction metadata. We do not store full payment card numbers.

How We Use Information

We use information to operate Odysser, process your content, improve reliability, and protect the Service.

  • Provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
  • Upload, transcribe, analyze, edit, preview, render, export, and recover video projects.
  • Generate captions, b-roll suggestions, motion graphics, timelines, previews, and other AI-assisted edits.
  • Respond to support requests and communicate with you about your account, product updates, security, and billing.
  • Measure usage, diagnose bugs, monitor performance, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms.
  • Develop and improve features, workflows, quality, and user experience.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, safety, and security of Odysser, users, and others.

AI Processing and Model Training

Odysser uses AI systems and infrastructure providers to understand and edit your content. This may include processing video, audio, transcripts, frames, prompts, and project metadata so the Service can generate edits and respond to your instructions.

You retain ownership of your content. We do not sell your content. We do not use your private uploaded content to train public AI models without your consent.

We may use aggregated, de-identified, or diagnostic information to improve product quality, reliability, and safety, provided it does not identify you or expose your private content.

Video and Content Privacy

Your uploaded content remains yours. We process it only as needed to provide and improve the Service, including editing, previews, exports, recovery, support, security, and abuse prevention.

Your content is not shared publicly unless you choose to export, download, publish, or share it. We do not make your private projects available to other users.

Processed files may be stored temporarily or for as long as needed to support editing, previews, exports, account recovery, billing records, legal obligations, security, and backups.

How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to operate the Service, comply with law, and protect users.

  • Service providers that help with hosting, storage, compute, authentication, payments, analytics, monitoring, email, support, AI processing, and security.
  • Third-party services you connect or authorize, only as needed to complete the action you requested.
  • Legal, safety, and compliance recipients when required by law, subpoena, court order, government request, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • Business transfers if Odysser is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality and continuity protections.

Analytics, Monitoring, and Cookies

We use analytics, monitoring, and similar technologies to understand usage, improve reliability, detect errors, and secure the Service. These tools may use cookies, local storage, device identifiers, IP addresses, and event data.

We do not use analytics to sell your personal data. Where required, you may control cookies through your browser or device settings.

Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the Service, maintaining projects, processing exports, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, preventing abuse, and keeping backups.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us. Some information may remain where retention is required by law, necessary for security, stored in backups for a limited period, or needed to resolve disputes or enforce agreements.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls, encryption in transit, cloud security controls, monitoring, and limited internal access.

No system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for controlling who has access to your account, workspace, devices, and exported files.

International Processing

Odysser and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. These countries may have data protection laws different from those in your jurisdiction.

Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise rights, contact hello@odysser.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and may provide additional notice through the Service or by other reasonable means.
